Teaching Methodology

Pioneers' Academy has long been distinguished for the best yearlong courses for B.Sc./M.Sc. and Competitive Exams in Mathematical Sciences. The foundation of teaching methodology used at Pioneers' academy is developed by highly qualified, trained, experienced and competent faculty members which simply lends an edge to students in preparations. Apart from academic expertise of faculty members, our teaching methodology has few more distinct features to add on the 'Take Home' of our students.

(i) Regular Classes- Regular classroom lecturers of 60/90 minutes are designed and delivered so as to ensure that courses are completed in the prescribed time period, with a modest speed of teaching, ensuring the thorough understanding of the subject.

(ii) Classroom Notes - Students are guided and dictated enough to prepare the notes of each topic in the classroom itself, which not only helps them to memorise the topic but also leads to improvement in their writing skills and presentation.

(iii) Chapter wise Practice Sheets (CPS) - This comprehensive study material comprises the important and difficult problems, derivations and concepts of that chapter.

(iv) Doubt Clarification Sessions - This is one of the most strong features of our teaching methodology. Daily doubt clarification eradicates the confusions of students immediately and ensures crystal clarity about the topic.

(v) Back Up Classes - Separate back up classes are arranged for those students who took late admission or missed a few classes due to genuine reasons, with prior approval.

(vi) Diagnostic test - Regular classroom lectures are designed with small diagnostic test questions in Psychological way which help the teacher to identify the weak points of students and give opportunities to enhance the understanding level.

(vii) Clinical Classes for remedial teaching - If it is observed or analyzed by diagnostic tests that some students are facing problems in a particular topic, which has been taught in regular class. In that case clinical classes of that topic are arranged, over and above the routine schedule. Students are informed about the schedule of clinical classes through announcements in classroom and notice on Notice Boards.

Testing system

Testing system is one of the most important features of our teaching methodology. The following parts of our testing system enhance the effectiveness -

(i) Self Appraisal Tests (SAT) - It is a unique and best part of our testing system. With CPS some assessment test papers are provided to students for self evaluation. These test papers contain objective questions. Students prepare their Self Appraisal Report (SAR) in a prescribed format after testing themselves. This system is designed in recurring mode for continuous self evaluation.

(ii) Periodic Assessment Tests - Periodic Assessment Tests are taken as per the schedule. These tests not only provide opportunities for the students to experience the simulation of examination atmosphere but also provide them clarity about what they don't know and what they need to know.

(iii) Test Paper Discussion- Discussion of test-paper in the class just after the test is an inescapable feature of our testing system. In this discussion faculties discussed the common errors made and how the questions were to be attempted.

(iv) Performance Analysis - Performance Analysis of each student is done on the basis of each test result to identify his/her growth graph and scope of improvement.

(v) Individual Counselling - Individual counselling is done by faculty members on the basis of test performance of the student. Counselling encircles around to identify strong and weak academic and non-academic points, advising for improvement.
